Umbrella Sky Project

September 3, 2018

The Umbrella Sky Project is a temporary art exhibit visiting the Giralda Plaza in Coral Gables (Miami), FL. The colorful umbrellas cover a pedestrian street in a lively area surrounded by shops and restaurants.  We visited on a busy and rainy Saturday afternoon. Thank goodness there are literally hundreds of umbrellas!

I do suggest getting there early if you can because this place can get busy. But make sure to visit ASAP as the umbrella sky project will only be in Coral Gables til September 16th!

Wow! That’s is really beautiful! It’s a bit hard to tell in the photos but does the light shining through leave colored shadows?

I’m a Miami based blogger too and loved visiting the Umbrella Sky project in Coral Gables. My mom was visiting from Albania and my kids were still in summer vacation. We really enjoyed walking around, taking pictures and eating at the local restaurant. I’ve seen pictures from Portugal and other areas where they’ve hosted a similar project and it is gorgeous. I’m thankful we had it here in Miami:))). Your pictures are lovely!

We did this in my town in Florida (Pensacola) recently. I thought it was so cool!
