I don’t usually use any product in my hair. I just use shampoo/conditioner in the shower (some days just conditioner). And then brush it wet, towel dry and let the curls do what they want. Some days it works but others the frizz is real. I was super excited to try these products from Kerastase (the luxury line from L’Oreal). I used each product on its own for a week to be able to give them a real review.
Kerastase Discipline Fluidissime
..or Discipline Anti Frizz Smoothing Spray. Oh my goodness I’m in love. You spray this onto towel dried hair. So I did my normal routine – shampoo, conditioner, brush my wet hair, towel dry. And then you shake the bottle a little and then spray it all over your hair. I use about 20 spays (I have very long hair). Even I can handle adding this simple step to my lazy girl’s hair routine. I will say it is no match for a rainy/humid day in South Florida. But is there really any hair product that is a match for a rainy day in South Florida? (No, seriously – please comment with the answer because I will love you forever). But I love how much better my curls look for every day. And this spray smells SO good.
Kerastase Initialiste – Advanced Scalp & Hair Serum
This product is also for post-shower hair. First, towel dry your hair then apply product. They suggest two droppers full for fine hair and 4 for thick hair. I used 4 because again – long hair (don’t care).I filled the dropper with the concentrate then squeezed it out onto my fingers and then rain my fingers through my hair, starting with my scalp. I like that the dropper helps with the amount used, but I’m not sure if I applied it the best way. Should you go directly from dropper to your hair or squeeze that onto your fingers first? Or am I thinking way too much into this?
It is supposed to help with hair strength and prevent breakage. Definitely something I need in my life but also not something that happens overnight. I plan to keep using this weekly.
Kerastase Elixir Ultime
This product reminds me of the Biosilk that we were all obsessed with when we started straightening our hair in middle school. Same smell and texture. This is obviously not a bad thing, but it is more expensive than the Biosilk I don’t straighten my hair often these days but I like that this can be used on wet or dry hair. I’ve been using it both after the shower and when I just need to calm the frizz. The Elixir Ultime is not something I’ll use daily but I’m happy to have it for those extra frizzy humid days.
