September is Flavor Palm Beach – our local restaurant month! Participating restaurants throughout the county have a special prix fixe 3-course lunch and/or dinner menu. Prices range from $17-65 depending on meal time and restaurant.
To celebrate and enjoy Flavor Palm Beach, we dined at Lucky Shuck, a newer restaurant in Jupiter. We have been talking about checking it out since they’ve opened. They have the best view – right on the water and facing the lighthouse.
Being parents to a one year old, date nights are hard to do but so important. We are lucky enough to have grandma live close enough to babysit Aaron, so we could have a fun night out. Just the two of us! (We’re still on a mission to find all of the best kid friendly restaurants in Palm Beach County – but we loved having a night out, just us).
Flavor PB is the perfect time for a date night to check out a new-to-you restaurant or support some of your local favorites.
The Flavor Palm Beach dinner menu at Lucky Shuck is $45 per person and includes an appetizer, main, and dessert.
and the moment you’ve been waiting for…
The Food
We started with the cheddar and chive biscuits while looking over the menu. These complimentary biscuits were such a yummy, unexpected treat to start our meal.
I also ordered the Love Street Blonde Ale – made by Barrel of Monks (a local brewery in Boca Raton) just for Lucky Shuck. Drinks are not included in the prix fixe menu but this one was worth it!
Appetizers
Jon ordered the roasted beets & baby kale salad.
I had the smoked local fish dip. If you ask me, the perfect bite is a cracker with the fish dip spread on top a piece of pepper (love how they were cut so thin) and a cucumber slice. I’m not an onion person, but I was happy to share them with Jon.
Main Entrees
For dinner, we ordered the yellowfin tuna poke bowl and blackened local fish. The waitress did warn Jon that some people find the poke bowl to be too spicy with the onions and peppers. But it was right up his alley! Sometimes bowls like that aren’t enough food for dinner but found this one filling. My dinner was trigger fish (similar to a mahi) and came with green beans and a tropical salsa. My meal was filling but light – it was nice to leave a restaurant and not feel over stuffed or blah.
Dessert
One of the hardest parts of having such a yummy meal, was saving room for dessert. Except I fully believe there’s a separate stomach for that. We shared both the carrot cake and Mississippi mud pie desserts. They come layered in these glass jars.
And I took home some leftovers so I could enjoy my meal again the next day for lunch.
Shoutout to our awesome waitress Diana for taking our picture and giving us such a great dining experience. And keeping us dry while sitting outside on a rainy night. (The restaurant has these awesome remote control shades for inclement weather).
If you want to plan ahead, you can find all of the participating restaurants and their Flavor menus here.
Thank you to Flavor Palm Beach for hosting our meal for 2 at Lucky Shuck.
