Target Universal Thread Try On

May 15, 2019

I recently stopped in to my local Target (a favorite lunch break activity) and tried on a few pieces from their Universal Thread line. This line always gives me major Madewell vibes. But at a much better price point. Hello $8 v-neck tees!

Target Universal Thread Try On

tiered denim dress – $30

This dress is a must have piece! I love the length – I tried it on without shoes and it just brushed the floor. So it would be perfect with flat sandals or dressed up with some summery espadrille wedges. I also love how simple this dress is because there are SO many ways it can be styled. Add a belt, cardigan and some statement earrings. Or a darker denim jacket. Or a fun printed headband.

Red Top – $18

Jeans – $28 (I don’t see the white ones online yet but I linked a similar denim pair with the tuxedo stripe)

I love this look for Memorial Day or 4th of July. I’m always a big fan of a true red, which is harder to find than you would think. The top is pretty basic but has a nice ruffle detail on the shoulders. The jeans fit true to size but be aware that the white is somewhat see through. I realized I could see the outline of the pockets when I tried them on.

Floral dress – $30

The top part of this dress is smocked, making it super comfortable! The floral print has a darker background color, so it can transition perfectly from Summer to Fall.

Universal Thread shorts and tee

v-neck tee – $8

striped pull on shorts – $18

This outfit felt like pajamas and I really didn’t want to take it off! These shorts are perfect for throwing over a bathing suit at the beach or lounging around the house. And again v-neck tees for only $8!!

white dress – $28

I’m on the fence about this dress. I think everyone needs (at least) one white eyelet dress for the summer. I don’t think I love the square neck – I thought this was an off-the-shoulder dress when I saw it on the hanger. But when I tried it on, I realized the sleeves weren’t really made to fit that way.

Universal Thread try on

dolman sleeve midi dress – $28

Ladies, I saved the best for last! I love the color, the length, and the fit. Its a true midi length dress, has an elastic waist which can be covered by the tie belt. Another Madewell vibes piece but probably 90% less than it would cost at Madewell. (Not knocking Madewell, I just prefer affordable pieces!)

Hope this Target Universal Thread try on is helpful! Check out my last Target try on, from their Who What Wear collection here.
