If I had to describe this last month in one word it would be: BUSY.
I keep seeing memes about January being a long year. And it feels like the best way to explain it. I feel like so much happened. I do my best to chat on Instagram stories, but most of it never made its way to the blog. So let’s catch up!
Events:
I started the month/year soaking up the sun at the beach. I live in paradise and do not take advantage of it enough. And then I watched UCF (unfortunately lose) in their bowl game.
I created my first ever Youtube video!
I went down to Miami for the South Florida Blogger Awards – you can read my takeaways here.
Jon played in a member/guest tournament with his dad. We spent the weekend with him in Hobe Sound AND I got 3rd place in the women’s putting contest.
And then the next day I spent 3 hours at the dentist finishing up a root canal. Goal – stop putting things off. But also the real goal is to never have to do that again.
We met David Yarus, the founder of JSwipe! If you’re new here (hi!) – I met my husband on JSwipe. So I’m obvs a big fan. He told his story and how JSwipe was started, how they were sued by JDate and then sold to JDate. After he spoke, we walked right up to the stage and introduced ourselves.
We went one night after work to the South Florida Fair. I can live without the rides and games. And decided to prioritize my stomach over the fair food this year (even though the fried candy bars were calling my name). But I saw cutie baby cows so it was a win in my book.
Purchases:
Now that I’m done dealing with my root canal, I will take all precautions to never have to do that again. I just started using a WaterPik Water Flosser. And I’m obsessed. I’m still trying to figure out how to use it without leaving my bathroom soaking wet. But my mouth feels so clean after I use it.
I ordered my blog business cards! This might sound weird but I have always wanted a job that came with business cards. Or atleast a need for business cards. And I would feel less than when people would hand me their business cards at networking events and I would have to say I don’t have any.
I found these adorable palm print cards on zazzle.com and I could not be more excited about them. It feels good to be investing in and prioritizing this blog
Also, I bought blue light blocking glasses! I spend all day staring at a computer screen for work. And all night starting at a computer screen working on my blog. OR starting at my phone screen just scrolling. SO I ordered these blue light blocking glasses to protect my eyes. Yes, I bought glasses so I won’t need to glasses.
What was your favorite January moment?
